Men's 514 Straight Fit Jeans Reviews
Both my husband and my step son wear these. Hubby doesn’t want any other, says his butt looks good and his package secure without being tight. I bought a few different colors, pay attention to the fabric, read the product information carefully because, although all are 514, each one has a different % of cotton and elastane, meaning they will feel, wear and wash differently.
I’m basically a 501 shrink to fit kind of guy in my 50s. I bought these a couple of years ago and they are the quality I expect from Levi’s. Marketing sent Levis to vanity sizing in the waist. It’s kind of stupid if you ask me, especially in the age of on-line shopping. True sizing would seem to be preferable to anyone and help keep the price down. Really I don’t want to waste my time buying and returning clothes through the mail. Seems like UPS/USPS/ Fed Ex are making a killing on this kind of marketing. The losers are us, as shipping costs eventually get passed down to the consumer. I’m 5′ 10",185 LBS and in reality have a 35-36" inch waist. The 34" in these are fine. the 30" inseam seems about correct in true measurement. They don’t offer this particular color anymore, but its like the rigid with 99%, cotton, 1% elastane material. I also own a pair of 100% cotton rigid which are like the 501’s, with thick durable denim. For comfort I prefer the softer stretchier material of the 1% elastane. It felt weird at first, but then realized the benefits and comfort of the stretch material. Well the gut isn’t getting any smaller these days. These are straight legged which even go with business casual attire, especially the solid darker colors. They have a modern fit at the waist or slightly below. They feel and look good. I also like a tapered leg of the 513s, 508’s and new 502’s for an even more modern look. I’m giving 4 stars due to Levi’s insistence on vanity sizing. What’s the point of confusing the public!
This is my hubby’s favourite style of jeans. He loves that they have a bit of stretch and aren’t skinny but also not baggy! we have learned you have to be careful though because only certain colours have the stretch in them!
