Sabrent 2TB Rocket 4 Plus NVMe 4.0 Gen4 PCIe M.2 Internal SSD Extreme Performance Solid State Drive R/W 7100/6600MB/s SB-RKT4P-2TB Reviews

For something that costs less and from a brand not many of us have heard of, Sabrent surpasses every single NVME m.2 SSD on the market, especially in write speeds. This is the new fastest SSD in the world.

Bought this on the day it was available on Amazon (I already had a WD SN850). Have been using it for 2 weeks now. As others have pointed out (and as expected), this thing is super fast in sequential reads/writes. It’s faster than WD SN850 in terms of sequential operations. My only complaint is subpar random reads, which is definitely noticeable in day-to-day use (e.g. Windows 10 boot times about 2 seconds slower on this compared to my WD SN850, same situation with game loads, etc).I decided to keep it, because the value proposition is excellent and I can tolerate small performance drops. The packaging of the product was well thought out. Another small thing that I liked was the HDD LED activity pulsing pattern. Sabrent lights up the HDD LED activity just like a traditional hard drive (you can see both short and long pulses, depending on how active your HDD is). In contrast, with WD SN850 the LED light will simply blink with specific intervals regardless of the amount of activity on the HDD. It’s a tiny thing, but I like Sabrent’s better!

Didn’t test random writes. But, at random reads it’s going at 7.5GB/sec, and still around 5.5GB/sec when testing random reads with tiny files. It’s oh-my-lawd levels of fast. So fast in fact, that you likely won’t even see its full benefit for most things. Right now for simple stuff like gaming, you’ll not see vastly improved loading times. It’s certainly novel for a Threadripper to be the bottleneck when loading applications.Decompressing gigs of crap between two of these things on correctly-configured systems is insanity levels of fast. If time is money, consider a good Gen4 NVME to be an investment that will pay for itself, and these are definitely amongst the best.
